Project One

Welcome everyone. You've finally made it to The Curb. A place to come for support. Sounds weird right? I know. How will this work? Let me explain..

Obviously we all live in an age where instant communication and instant information is everywhere.  I would even bet that some if not most of you are reading this on your cell phone or personal device.  Either way, this instant information era is prevalent now more than ever and most likely not going anywhere.

So we have been trying to think of a way to use this era for the good of the people.  We all have status updates that let us know what each other are doing at any given point in time.  Twitter accounts to voice our opinions on anything from celebrity information to movie reviews.

So we figured if we all have this capability to share information with each other, from the comfort of our own homes, why not put it to good use?

That is why we built "The Curb".  A blog that will be interactive in helping you better your life, from the anonymity of an online community.  For lack of a better term, an online support community.  But this is not going to be as serious as that sounds.  There's room for laughter, seriousness, and much more.  We will be going through 2 week projects with daily 'Curbwork Assignments' posted daily at 11am.  At the end of the day we want you all to come back here and discuss what you've discovered from our CurbWork.  If you miss a day or two, no biggie.  We want you to check back with us daily, but we know you all have lives.  But when your Facebook Update List is boring, or Twitter is annoying, come check us out.  Comment on our 'CurbWork' blogs to be involved in a discussion thread.

The whole theme of our projects will be positive and to better yourself.  We will give you ideas, quote, and information daily regarding the current two week project, and we encourage you to spread the news and invite friends and family to check us out.  We will be moderating so NO offensive language or comments. Maturity is required.

With that being said I would like to introduce you to our first two week project...

"NEW YEARS RESOLUTION"

Cringe right?  We never keep them and we never know what to 'resolve'.  So we have decided that our first two week project will be sort of a twist on the New Years Resolution and are excited to see the outcome for you and ourselves.

So instead of New Years being the day to start, as most people will, we are giving you 48 hours from right now to decide what you will be giving up.

We say giving up, because we want your resolution to show you something.  If you give up a 'self-destructive' behavior such as smoking, spending too much money, drinking soda, etc... you will notice that you  make room in your life for the universe to replace with something exciting and new.  What that is is going to differ for everyone. Choose something small if you want it to be easy, or something large if you want more of a challenge.

So basically your first assignment is to take the next 48 hours and think of ONE thing you have always wanted to give up, but have never gotten up the gull to.  Come back here Saturday night and post what you will be giving up, or if you dont want to you dont have to.  Make the promise to yourself then.  The support part will come from posting on here though.  Either way, go think about what you can give up while you spend Christmas with the familia.

STICK TO YOUR DECISION AND LETS SEE WHAT REPLACES THAT PART OF YOUR LIFE.  We will be making our decision as well.

Check back here tomorrow at 11am for your first day of 'CurbWork'.

Thanks for taking the time to come to The Curb today.  Let's make a difference.
