Daily CurbWork 3

COMPASSION

Go be nice to EVERYONE today.  Be nice to that jerk who cut you off in traffic.  Be nice to that person in line who isn't paying attention.  If you can maintain a feeling of compassion, then something automatically opens your inner door.  Through that, you can communicate more easily with people.  You will find that all human beings are just like you, so you will be able to relate to them more easily.  That gives  you the spirit of friendship.  Then there's less need to hide things, and as a result, feelings of fear, self doubt, and insecurities are automatically dispelled.

SO GO BE NICE!!

Also, you're getting a heads up for tomorrows CurbWork as well.  It's all about finding a new hobby and how it will change your life.  Start thinking now about what you would like as a new hobby.

Have a great day!!

Daily CurbWork #2

GRATITUDE

So it is all about gratitude today.  Gratitude will change your life.  What are you grateful for?  Some people have a gratitude journal in which they write down 3 things they are grateful for every day, and never repeat the same thing.  This is a great way to get the universe working for you.

Today though, we are just going to ask that you find 3 things that you are grateful for through out the day.  And nothing easy, we want you to dig deep and be grateful for the little things.  Be grateful for no traffic on the way to work.  Be grateful for your favorite song coming on the radio.

Once you find something to be grateful for, just focus on that feeling your mind and body feels.  That center of vibration will let the universe know that you are in tune with accepting new things into your life.  And when the universe realizes you are ready, it will be that much easier to "give up" your destructive behavior and make way for something new in your life.

Have a grateful day everyone!!

Daily CurbWork

Ok so you should have your decision.  What will you give up?

Whatever your decision, you don't have to give it up yet; but we want you to recognize today EVERY time your "behavior" happens.  Just recognize it.  Easy right?

Recognition leads to acceptance.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Project One

Welcome everyone. You've finally made it to The Curb. A place to come for support. Sounds weird right? I know. How will this work? Let me explain..

Obviously we all live in an age where instant communication and instant information is everywhere.  I would even bet that some if not most of you are reading this on your cell phone or personal device.  Either way, this instant information era is prevalent now more than ever and most likely not going anywhere.

So we have been trying to think of a way to use this era for the good of the people.  We all have status updates that let us know what each other are doing at any given point in time.  Twitter accounts to voice our opinions on anything from celebrity information to movie reviews.

So we figured if we all have this capability to share information with each other, from the comfort of our own homes, why not put it to good use?

That is why we built "The Curb".  A blog that will be interactive in helping you better your life, from the anonymity of an online community.  For lack of a better term, an online support community.  But this is not going to be as serious as that sounds.  There's room for laughter, seriousness, and much more.  We will be going through 2 week projects with daily 'Curbwork Assignments' posted daily at 11am.  At the end of the day we want you all to come back here and discuss what you've discovered from our CurbWork.  If you miss a day or two, no biggie.  We want you to check back with us daily, but we know you all have lives.  But when your Facebook Update List is boring, or Twitter is annoying, come check us out.  Comment on our 'CurbWork' blogs to be involved in a discussion thread.

The whole theme of our projects will be positive and to better yourself.  We will give you ideas, quote, and information daily regarding the current two week project, and we encourage you to spread the news and invite friends and family to check us out.  We will be moderating so NO offensive language or comments. Maturity is required.

With that being said I would like to introduce you to our first two week project...

"NEW YEARS RESOLUTION"

Cringe right?  We never keep them and we never know what to 'resolve'.  So we have decided that our first two week project will be sort of a twist on the New Years Resolution and are excited to see the outcome for you and ourselves.

So instead of New Years being the day to start, as most people will, we are giving you 48 hours from right now to decide what you will be giving up.

We say giving up, because we want your resolution to show you something.  If you give up a 'self-destructive' behavior such as smoking, spending too much money, drinking soda, etc... you will notice that you  make room in your life for the universe to replace with something exciting and new.  What that is is going to differ for everyone. Choose something small if you want it to be easy, or something large if you want more of a challenge.

So basically your first assignment is to take the next 48 hours and think of ONE thing you have always wanted to give up, but have never gotten up the gull to.  Come back here Saturday night and post what you will be giving up, or if you dont want to you dont have to.  Make the promise to yourself then.  The support part will come from posting on here though.  Either way, go think about what you can give up while you spend Christmas with the familia.

STICK TO YOUR DECISION AND LETS SEE WHAT REPLACES THAT PART OF YOUR LIFE.  We will be making our decision as well.

Check back here tomorrow at 11am for your first day of 'CurbWork'.

Thanks for taking the time to come to The Curb today.  Let's make a difference.

So Here Is How This is Going to Go

Here’s a list of challenges to get you thinking about where you stand right now (in no particular order):

  • Do you shower/bathe every day?
  • Do you get up at the same time every morning? Including weekends?
  • Are you overweight?
  • Do you have any addictions (caffeine, nicotine, sugar, etc.) you’d like to break but haven’t?
  • Is your email inbox empty right now?
  • Is your office neat and well organized?
  • Is your home neat and well organized?
  • How much time do you waste in a typical day? On a weekend?
  • If you make a promise to someone, what’s the percentage chance you’ll keep it?
  • If you make a promise to yourself, what’s the percentage chance you’ll keep it?
  • Could you fast for one day?
  • How well organized is your computer’s hard drive?
  • How often do you exercise?
  • What’s the greatest physical challenge you’ve ever faced, and how long ago was it?
  • How many hours of focused work do you complete in a typical workday?
  • How many items on your to do list are older than 90 days?
  • Do you have clear, written goals? Do you have written plans to achieve them?
  • If you lost your job, how much time would you spend each day looking for a new one, and how long would you maintain that level of effort?
  • How much TV do you currently watch? Could you give up TV for 30 days?
  • How do you look right now? What does your appearance say about your level of discipline (clothes, grooming, etc)?
  • Do you primarily select foods to eat based on health considerations or on taste/satiety?
  • When was the last time you consciously adopted a positive new habit? Discontinued a bad habit?
  • Are you in debt? Do you consider this debt an investment or a mistake?
  • Did you decide in advance to be reading this blog right now, or did it just happen?
  • Can you tell me what you’ll be doing tomorrow? Next weekend?
  • On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your overall level of self-discipline?
  • What more could you accomplish if you could answer that last question with a 9 or 10?

Food for Thought

Why We Are Here

We Want The Best For Everyone

I would like to take a second and give you and idea of what you can expect from our blog.  There will be a very fresh and positive feel whenever you visit here.  We will be constantly updating this blog with good stories, personal experiences, fun stuff to do, and advice on all aspects of life.  There will be bit of a personal feel as well.  We would like to break down stereotypes and show you, and the world, that our sexuality does not define our characters.  We are like any other couple, and have been through a lot at such a young age.  We never have the feeling that we are in a competition which is great because it drives us to help others with everyday struggles.  We want to be the place you come visit when you need a quick "pick-me-up".  We would love for you to come over, but the place isn't big enough for everyone, and we don't have a kitchen big enough to cook for all of you.  I hope you keep checking back with us and I hope you enjoy what our blog has to offer.
